Formerly known as Birdies for Charity®, Champions fore Charity is a fundraising program that provides participating charities and schools the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open. Champions fore Charity is a no-cost program that gives 100% of the funds raised back to the participating organizations, plus incentives including a 7% match. Funds are generated by soliciting donations from individuals and corporations.

Donors have the ability and flexibility to contribute now or the ability to make a commitment and pay by April 11, 2023 to as many participating organizations as desired. Donations are accepted from anywhere around the world and are tax deductible.

Registration for charities and schools to participate in the 2022-23 fundraising campaign is underway. Through February 2023, charities and school program are welcome to register and participate for free. Thank you for your support.

Champions fore Charity gives back 100% plus a 7% match to all donations raised during the fundraising window, which is part of the Valero Texas Open. This program is one of its kind.  

STX Surf Soccer Club uses this fundraising program to support it's members.  Players use this program to fundraise money to help pay for their tournament fees and club dues.  Players get 100% of the amount they raise, and STX Surf keeps the 7% match from the Valero Texas Open's Champions fore Charity fundraising program to support the STX Surf Soccer Club's scholarship program, which on average is over $15K annually is awarded to STX Surf families.

Example:  A donation of $100 is paid to Champions fore Charity to support the STX Surf Soccer Club, on behalf or a STX Surf Player.

• The player will get a $100 credited to his player account, after the payout dates.

• STX Surf Soccer Club will get $7 to support the scholarship fund or financial aid for families in need.  

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE:
Players are still responsible for paying their STX Surf invoices until their fundraising credit has been applied to their account.  If a donation amount cannot be applied to a current STX Surf player; STX Surf will apply the donation amount to the general STX Surf scholarship fund to benefit the STX Surf families in need of financial aid.

Friendraising is a personalized fundraising webpage - NEW THIS YEAR - Champions fore Charity is launching a new feature called “Friendraising”.  This new feature allows players/families to create a personalized fundraising webpage (similar to GoFundMe) to help aid players with their fundraising efforts.

STX Surf families have two (2) options:

1. Create a webpage for each player in their household or
2. Create a household webpage to support all players in their household

IMPORTANT:  You cannot have two (2) "Friendraising" webpages associated to the same email.

One-time Contribution - Parents (anyone) can make a one-time contribution on their behalf, and get back 100% of the money paid applied as credit towards their player account.  STX Surf families looking to do this just need to make sure they understand the pay-out dates; as they are still responsible for all STX Surf invoices until the credit has been applied to their account.

• You can use this feature more than than once. 
• IMPORTANT - Please make sure you include the player's name to the reference line.
